Being Ignored

being ignored
feels like fire burning intensely hot
in your chest
pain shooting to the ends of your fingertips and down your thighs
heat in your face
and hair that aches to be pulled out
thoughts that rage so fast you want to bang your head to keep them still
and everything bundled up and sets you aflame
and you burn brightly as you could possibly burn
and no one even notices
because it is only a whisper of a flicker of a flame
it is nothing
you are nothing
your feelings are nothing
if only the heartache could be extinguished
and what is left of you,  a pile of ashes,
could be tossed up in a fierce wind
to be scattered and done away with once and for all.
at peace
